- THE DEAN LOWRY DAYS... :

Glenn recalls this never seen picture was taken at Pomona raceway. I admit its hard to see him, but Dean his at the wheels with helmet while the EMPI pick-up bus is pushing him... Note the black fat stock rims at the back! I had never seen the Inch Pincher in such wheels combo before... Awesome!

Here is another picture from Glenn taken at Hot Rod Mag Drags at Riverside in the EMPI Display area in 1965... Awesome or what... No words... That beautiful old school babe was Miss Drag News... Ahhhh, the good old days...Image is a thumbnail for your viewing pleasure LOL!

Inch Pincher on tow. The EMPI pick-up bus is in the background!

Wouldn't you be proud of such an impressive number of trophies... Darrell and Deano sure looks very proud next to the Inch Pincher... Looks like the men in black no? *Laughing* I say "Respect" to such pionneer in VW racing!

A cool 3/4 rear view shot with very early BRM rims. Note the centercaps...Image is a thumbnail, click it...

Another Lee LEIGHTON's picture! This one shows the little bug launching hard at Riverside Raceway!

Deano's wrenching under the car... Note the Shorrock supercharger!

Times are changes at the tracks and the little orange bomb will soon introduce a whole new look, with pinstripings, fiberglass, scoops... Dean is still behind the wheels, the car still got his 359 H/G number, but it's now written 'Inch Pincher Riverside California' on both doors, with a big EMPI logo...

The pictures below are... I can't find words... There is definitely no words to describe such pictures...

Hard racing against a big muscle car in background... Judging by this picture angle, no doubt the little VW will pass the finish line in first position... The car compete in H/Gas...

Another amazing picture... Again Deano racing with his bright metalflake helmet... The car looks very similar as the one above but I guess this picture is younger (maybe 1968) because of the class is now I/Gas and all the stickers on windows... Glenn would add that the car looks more of a billboard... BRMs turned red too and the T-Bar was replaces at the rear by a kind of chromed buggy bumper... On this version, some things were replaced to save weight : stock headlights are gone, as are the taillights, fiberglass font hood with scoop for gauges was added... Sure for I/Gas NHRA requirements...

The little car sits on the Inch Pincher specially made trailer! This picture was found on the web and I have no idea where and who took that photo... But it sure looks the part!

Just another great shot showing the orange rocket against an Anglia Gasser... Seems that's another winning day Dean...

A cool B&W picture coming from Lee LEIGHTON own collection and showing the Inch Pincher hard racing a corvette! Yes, the lucky owner of the very first Hot VWs & Dune Buggies magazine ever (dated 1967) will have recognized this picture, as it's the same that appeared in this very special issue...

Want never seen before... Here you are! A cool Fermier Bros picture!

Sport Car Graphics magazine devoted in January 1968 one of its cover issue to the Inch Pincher in action... A real collector... This mag has a complete section devoted to the growing US VW scene...

Is it really a surprise to find a little VW that posted some I/Gas record in the 12.00 on cover of US V8 magazines... I think not...
